| |
The community through
WUSC will bear 50% of total project
cost while implementing the programme.
Similarly the WU amount equivalent
to 20 % of the capital cost required
for town project construction during
implementation including 5% up-front
cash contribution. In addition the
community shall pay back a loan amount
equivalent to 30% of the capital cost
at an interest rate of 8 percent per
annum with a maturity of 12 to 15
years of town project operation to
be disbursed through Town Development
Fund during the town project construction.
In total, local government and water
consumers will contribute, in cash
and kind, 20 percent of the town project
construction cost representing about
15 percent of the total project cost.
The Government will contribute 20
percent of the total project cost;
and that Asian Development Bank will
provide a loan of US$ 35 million equivalent
from its special funds resources to
cover 65 percent of the total project
cost. |

and Sewerage is the implementing
agency of the project.
- The main thrust of the project
is to maximize the decision powers
of the local communities with
regard to the design, implementation
and O&M of each town project
while engaging DWSS as the facilitator
in coordinating the overall project
activities and monitoring and
reporting project progress.
- The major stakeholders for programme
implementation are Ministry of
Physical Planning and Work, (MHPP),
Department of Water Supply and
Sewerage /Small Town Water Supply
and Sanitation Support Programme
(STWSSSP),
Town Development Fund (TDF), Water
Users and Sanitation Committees
(WUSCs), Engineering Design Consultants
